Fictional Film Poster Art

Project Overview

A cinematic western-inspired key art concept for a fictional film, featuring original photography and digital poster design.

My Roles

Creative Direction

The poster uses a warm golden palette and a wide, open horizon to suggest possibility and new beginnings. Soft, cinematic light and simple typography create an uplifting, timeless feel.

Project Overview

Inspired by real accounts, this fictional movie poster draws on reports from people who say that after accidentally taking too much allergy medication, they experienced sleep paralysis and have seen a tall, blurry, shadowy figure of a man— in a top hat and long coat. No one has ever been able to make out his face. They call him ‘The Hat Man.’

My Roles

Creative Direction

I wanted both posters to have a vintage feel. The first poster represents how someone might see the Hat Man, as he appears to get closer every time he is seen.

For the second poster, I wanted a vintage newspaper style with the headline “Have You Seen This Man?” After multiple reported sightings, the Hat Man was never actually found, implying that he may not be a real figure, but something psychological. He is never clearly seen, only appearing as a blurry silhouette with no recognizable face or features.

Project Overview

’One More Ride’ is a fictional horror poster built around a clown who offers his victims one more carnival ride—and gives them no way to escape.

My Roles

Creative Direction

The first poster focuses on the illuminated ride and midway lights, with the clown blurred in the foreground. The red glow makes the carnival feel both inviting and threatening, while the blur keeps the clown’s appearance a mystery.

The supporting poster centers on a ticket booth marked “closed,” showing the carnival has shut down for the night. Red lights and deep shadows make the booth feel eerie and threatening. The sign says there should be no more rides— but you’re still there, and the clown is offering you one more ride.

Project Overview

A fictional horror film concept about a mysterious figure that was awakened by a fire. Instead of destroying him, the fire brought him back, and now he’s become something much more alive and dangerous.

My Roles

Creative Direction

I wanted the glowing embers, eyes, and chest of the character to be the main focus of the poster. I added fire and embers in the background to make it feel like he just walked out of the flames. I kept everything else dark so the orange glow would stand out and used a dark orange title to match the horror feel without taking attention away from the photo.

Project Overview

A fictional clown slasher poster about a killer clown whose fixed grin makes the title “One of Us Is Smiling” feel like a taunt. The line suggests one of the victims might be smiling too, but the clown’s permanent smile makes the answer clear: it’s always him.

My Roles

Creative Direction

I used the clown’s unsettling portrait and deep red lighting to create a menacing, close-up feel. The dark red title plays on the question of who is smiling—the victim or the clown—while the tagline, “The other one knows why,” turns the title into a taunt from the killer, reinforcing that the clown is always the one smiling.

Project Overview

A fictional horror film concept set at a lively carnival, where a sinister jester lures unsuspecting guests into his evil plots behind the scenes. The poster hints at the contrast between the joyful performances enjoyed by the audience and the danger hidden beneath the carnival’s cheerful surface.

My Roles

Creative Direction

I wanted the poster to feel like a vintage carnival with something unsettling beneath the surface. The glowing lights and ornate lettering draw the viewer in, while the jester’s welcoming pose contrasts with the unease of his mask and the dark shadows. I kept the photo’s warm, vintage color palette and used the tagline, “Every laugh hides a scream,” to hint at the horror behind the performance.
